Cutting on laserdiscs is a good, medium fidelity alternative to expensive lacquer 12"s. Cutting can be done with a standard sapphire stylus, and sound quality is surprisingly good, with some light surface noise.
It is necessary to fill the center hole of laserdiscs in order to make the large hole into a 9/32" hole. One method for this is to take a standard 45 rpm spider adapter and trim it to fit the center hole of the laserdisc, and then cut a label over both sides, encasing it between paper.
